Knicks to Interview 1/5 of Fab Five for Head Coaching Job

The New York Knicks are desperate to find a head coach who will be along for the rebuilding process. Jeff Hornacek, who was fired by New York in early April, coached the team for two seasons and compiled a 60-104 record in that span. Hornacek was not a fan favorite and had a poor relationship with star forward Kristaps Porzingis.

So far, New York has interviewed a total of nine individuals to fill the head coach vacancy. A few notable candidates include Mark Jackson, Jeff Van Gundy, Jerry Stackhouse, and David Blatt, among others.

ESPN’s Zach Lowe reported 19-year NBA veteran and current Miami Heat assistant coach Juwan Howard will be the tenth interviewee.

Howard, a member of the Michigan Wolverines’ “Fab Five,” has been an assistant coach for the Heat over the last five seasons. He was a champion with the franchise in 2012 and 2013.
