While some players around the league compete in 2019 NBA All-Star festivities, others spend the All-Star break on vacation, with family, or they go back home and relax. For Los Angeles Lakers guards Lonzo Ball and Lance Stephenson, they spent time in the studio and collaborated on a rap song.
The song, “Swerve,” which was released on Friday, Dec. 15 under the Big Baller Music Group on Spotify, was Ball and Stephenson’s first song together. “Swerve” was also produced by fellow Lakers center JaVale McGee. The two have had their own rap careers, including Ball releasing numerous mixtapes since joining the league in 2017.
Stephenson teased and promoted the song on his Instagram on the day of its release.

Stephenson said in December that he and Ball will consider releasing a joint album after seeing how well the song does.
Rather than focusing on music, though, the two guards may want to focus more on their team’s success. Los Angeles is heading into the second half of the 2018-19 season with a 28-29 record, 10th in the Western Conference and 2.0 games out of playoff contention.
