In the second overtime period of the Portland Trail Blazers’ 148-144 win over Brooklyn on Monday, March 25, Blazers center Jusuf Nurkic suffered a gruesome leg injury after landing on an opponents foot. Nurkic immediately fell to the ground in pain and had to be carried off on a stretcher.
Nurkic’s injury was ruled as a compound fracture of the left tibia and fibula and the 24-year-old big man will have to undergo surgery and will miss the remainder of the season.
The injury was gruesome and is painful to watch. WARNING: Watch at your own risk.
Brooklyn Nets players ran to the bench after realizing what had occurred, and NBA stars and teammates’ reactions on social media were full of prayers and shock.

Tough to come up with the right thing to say at this moment.. You’re a dominant player with an incredibly bright future. But that’s not what makes me proud to be your teammate. It’s the man you are. You work hard, you care about your teammates like they’re your brothers, and you’re a positive influence on others. I know you will come back stronger brother. Prayers up 🙏🏼 @bosnianbeast27
