Potential No. 1 Overall Pick Luka Doncic Declares for NBA Draft

Potential No. 1 overall pick Luka Doncic of Real Madrid has declared for the 2018 NBA draft, according to Yahoo Sports.

Doncic, 19, submitted draft paperwork this week to formally enter his name. The phenom has been playing in the EuroLeague since 2015 as a 16-year-old professional basketball player. Doncic is currently leading Real Madrid in the EuroLeague playoffs, averaging 14.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 4.4 assists this season.

At 6-foot-7, Doncic is versatile enough to play multiple positions including shooting guard, small forward, and power forward. He excels at shooting the ball and has experience being the primary ballhandler on his team.

NBA scouts are extremely impressed with Doncic’s talent and expect him to go No. 1 overall in the 2018 draft. However, the NBA Draft Lottery will depict where he will be selected in the draft. Some teams need a go-to scorer like Doncic, while others have their sites on Arizona center DeAndre Ayton.
